This design work shows the different stages designing and planning a redesign for the title Sequence for the movie “The Little Prince”. First, I created storyboards to visualize the overall motion with static frames. This helped me narrow down what I wanted to incorporate from the movie, and an overall direction for the title sequence.
Next, I created an animatic to plan out the timing of all the storyboards. I also added basic animation to test out how it would look in conjunction with the rest of the piece. This was also crucial to figure out the timing with the music and to pick what song would work best.
The final title sequence includes many effects, from Aftereffects, as well as some stop motion in the beginning and the end. I was a good challenge for me to figure out how to pair stop motion with digital motion to create one cohesive work. A huge inspiration for this piece was the art from the original book “Le Petit Prince” and I wanted to show the look and feel of hand drawn water color throughout the title sequence.
